How do you organize? Where do you meet, how often?
Years ago, we rehearsed from Monday to Thursday, and on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday we went to the dances. Years later, it was dancing daily and only rehearsing for exhibitions or new routines occasionally. Nowadays, some days we go to dance for live streams, others to ballroom dances, and others to street dances, and we only rehearse when we have exhibitions or to teach classes.
Soundsystems that you have accompanied and danced to
I wouldn't finish listing all those we have accompanied, followed, or worked with, but the club's favorites are Africa, Ariel Pérez, Casablanca, Caribali, Rolas, Sensación Caribe, Changa, Cóndor, Victor Pérez, Conga, Sonoramico, Super Dengue, Inmensidad, Marysol, Pancho, Berraco, Barranco, Stereo Rumba 97, Siboney.

Any of the Sonora Matancera gets people excited.
Emergence of the club
Club Santa Julia was born because the club Las Japonesitas de la Pantitlán came to the neighborhood to challenge the dancers of Santa Julia. So, several friends who had been dancing independently for years got together and decided to name the club after the neighborhood. We went and danced in the club-against-club circle, and in the end, there was a one-on-one between the best of each club, from which we emerged victorious in our own neighborhood, where the judge was own community. We liked the atmosphere that was created in the group, so we decided to continue with the club, and since I won the one-on-one, my friends designated me as the head of the club.
Founding of the club
Founded in 1976.
Genres they like to dance to
Salsa, cumbia, guaracha, montuno, swing, rock and roll, mambo, chachacha, son cubano, boleros.
An unforgettable moment
Thanks to dancing, we got to dance in different States of the American Union such as New York, New Jersey, Delaware, North Carolina, Washington, Oregon, California, Utah, Nevada, Minnesota, and Chicago.
Three fundamental reasons to go dancing through life
- It keeps you in shape, both physically and psychologically.
- It helps young and elderly adults who are going through problems (family dysfunction, abuse, drugs, anxiety, depression, etc, etc).
- It opens doors for you that you never imagined existed.
